Waves engineers spent more than a year analyzing and modeling the distinctive sonic characteristics of SL 4000 factory reference consoles and components provided by Solid State Logic. These plug-ins sound so close to the original consoles, even experts who work with SSL boards day in and day out can’t tell the difference.

Recording:

Protools 7.4 on a Mac G5, 4.5 G Ram, tons of storage. There are many ways to record these days and many very good software programs to get your sound on the hard drive. We use Pro-Tools. Why? Because there are more Pro-Tools studios in the world than any other Program. Combine the Digi 002 along with the absolute pristine sound quality of the Presonus Digimax, Focusrite Voicemaster Pro, and other cool Pre-amps, the sound speaks for it's self. When we present your music to someone they can virtually use all of what we recorded..WHY? Because they use Pro-Tools too!

What is a good DAW without lots of plug-ins. But as you know most plug-ins that come standard with recording software can also bring an inferior sound with them. Reverbs without smooth trails, EQs that taint the sound just enough to make you scream.."why can't I get this to sound right!", not realizing the software is causing phase problems in your signal and there is nothing you can do about it. While Pro-Tools makes excellent plugins for their system we choose to use 3rd party applications to put the magic back in the music. Waves makes the best of the best when it comes to plugins...and when you hear yourself under the influence of these babies...you will know why top artists insist on them in their mix.
